The Dave Matthews Band put on a stellar show at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, NJ on July 21, 2023. The crowd was energized from the start, and the band delivered a high-energy performance. As usual, they played a mix of old and new songs, and the audience sang along to every word. It was a truly memorable night.
The band opened the show with "Virginia in the Rain," and the energy in the crowd was immediately palpable. Dave Matthews' vocals were clear and powerful, and the band's instrumentals were tight and in sync. They played a variety of songs from their extensive catalog, including "Rapunzel" "Spaceman" and "The Stone."
One of the highlights of the show was the band's extended jam session on "I Want You" The band members improvised and explored different musical ideas with snippets of “She’s So Heavy”, by The Beatles, and the audience was completely captivated. It was a truly magical moment.
The Dave Matthews Band is one of the best live bands in the world, and this, the first of two nights in Camden was no exception. They put on a show that was both energetic and intimate, and the audience was completely engaged.
