On the final night of January, Blackberry Smoke rolled into the Xcite Center at Parx Casino, delivering a powerhouse set that blended deep Southern soul with rowdy rock ‘n’ roll. With the "Rattle, Ramble and Roll Tour" in full swing, the Atlanta-based band proved once again why they’re one of the most enduring acts in modern Southern rock.

Opening with Shake Your Magnolia, the band wasted no time getting the crowd on its feet. Charlie Starr’s signature raspy vocals cut through the mix, and the groove-heavy rhythm section set the tone for a night of whiskey-soaked storytelling and blistering guitar work. The anthemic Good One Comin' On had the audience singing along early, and the reflective Like It Was Yesterday showcased the band’s knack for heartfelt, nostalgic songwriting.

One of the standout moments of the night came during Sleeping Dogs, seamlessly weaving in a raucous rendition of Midnight Special. The extended jam had the crowd mesmerized, with Brandon Still’s keys and Paul Jackson’s guitar trading licks in a fiery display of musicianship. Slowing things down, I've Got This Song brought a wave of emotion over the room, reminding everyone that Blackberry Smoke’s strength isn’t just in their grit, but in their storytelling.

The night hit another high with One Horse Town, a song that never fails to strike a chord with fans, who belted out every lyric as if they’d lived the story themselves. Like an Arrow roared through the speakers next, its anthemic chorus ringing through the venue, before the band briefly left the stage.

For the encore, Blackberry Smoke paid homage to their influences, diving into Willin’, the classic Little Feat cover, blending it seamlessly with Don’t Bogart That Joint. But it was When the Levee Breaks that truly capped the night in epic fashion, as the band’s raw energy breathed new life into the blues standard.

By the time the final notes rang out, the Xcite Center was buzzing with the kind of electric energy that only a seasoned rock band can summon. Blackberry Smoke came, rattled the walls, rambled through their best, and left nothing but ringing ears and satisfied souls in their wake. If this tour is rolling through your town, consider it a must-see.
